Ulrich v. Dachsberg, who came from Aspach in the Innviertel, built Seeburg Castle as his official residence in 1429 as a magistrate in the old fishing village of Seewalchen, where a residential tower probably already stood as a manor house in the earlier Middle Ages.
Seeburg Castle consists of a four-story main building, a castle chapel, and a defensive wall with four round corner towers.
Today, the castle houses the registry office and the Seeburg Castle Private University (www.uni-seeburg.at).
